Preserve Human Dignity —Demonstrate Respect
Friendship is at the heart of the Olympic Movement. It encourages us to see sport as an instrument for mutual understanding between individuals, and between people all over the world.

The number of women athletes at the Olympic Games is approaching 50 per cent.
Sport is one of the most powerful platforms for promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls. Gender equality is a top priority for the Olympic Movement. The two main aims are to make access to sport in general and the Olympic Games easier for female athletes, and to increase the number of women in sports administration and management.
